Notch Arcade is a local-first Mac game app. This policy explains what stays on your Mac and what reaches our services.

Data stored on your Mac

Notch Arcade stores settings, saved games, progress, and personal best scores on your Mac. Local play works without cloud sync.

The app stores your license key and device credential in Keychain. Do not share your license key.

Data we collect

We collect only the data needed to sell, license, operate, protect, and support Notch Arcade.

• Purchase data includes your email, payment status, price, currency, transaction identifiers, and purchase dates.
• License data includes a protected license record, device identifier, device label, activation status, and last license check.
• Profile data includes your public player name and generated avatar details.
• Game data includes cloud saves, scores, ranks, game mode, difficulty, run duration, and rules version.
• Support data includes the messages and files that you send to us.
• Technical data can include app version, macOS version, crash details, service errors, IP address, and request time.
• Website analytics data can include page views and clicks. The Mac app sends no product analytics.

We do not collect contacts, precise location, advertising identifiers, photos, microphone data, or recordings of your game input.

Website analytics and replay

PostHog collects product analytics for the website only. The Mac app sends no product analytics. The website sends page views, clicks, and a replay of the visit.

The website replay shows how you move through the pages. It does not show the values you type, because we mask every input field.

PostHog stores a random visitor ID in your browser to connect visits. It uses local storage and a cookie for this.

We do not send your license key, purchase email, or device credential to PostHog.

How we use data

We use data to process purchases, activate licenses, recover keys, sync saves, show leaderboards, prevent abuse, and provide support.

We also use technical data to deliver updates, find errors, protect the service, and measure basic product operation.

We use the messages you send to support only to answer you and handle the related request. We do not add support contacts to marketing lists.

Public leaderboard data

Your player name, generated avatar, scores, ranks, and game records can appear publicly when you use leaderboard features.

We never show your purchase email, license key, or device credential on a leaderboard.

Payments and service providers

Polar is the Merchant of Record for your purchase. Polar processes payments, billing details, taxes, receipts, refunds, and payment disputes under its own privacy policy.

We receive purchase details, but we do not receive your full card number.

Cloudflare hosts the website and online services. Resend delivers license and support email. Sentry processes error reports from our website service. PostHog processes website analytics and session replays. Google (Gmail) receives and stores support email after we forward it to our support inbox.

These providers can process data in other countries. Their contracts and legal safeguards govern those transfers.

Updates and license checks

The app contacts our service to activate and verify a license. A check can include a device credential, app version, and request data.

The app can also contact an update service to check for and download a new version.

Retention and deletion

We keep purchase records when tax, accounting, fraud, or consumer law requires them.

We keep active license and device records while your license remains active. We keep support and technical records only as needed.

A refund removes public scores and deactivates the license. We delete related cloud game data within 30 days.

You can request deletion of your profile, cloud saves, and leaderboard records. Required purchase records can remain.

Security

We use access controls, protected credentials, and service safeguards. No storage or transmission method is completely secure.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, export, or delete personal data. You can also object to some processing.

These rights depend on applicable law. We can ask for information that confirms your identity before we act.

Children

Notch Arcade is not directed to children under 13. If you are under 18, use Notch Arcade only with permission from a parent or guardian.

Changes and contact

We can update this policy when the product or law changes. We will change the effective date above.
